dn-a is delighted to report that Wandsworth Council recently granted full planning consent for our proposed refurbishment of existing office accommodation on 116 Putney Bridge Road in Putney. The proposals include replacement windows and doors, enhancements to the internal courtyard, new entrance lobby, including sandwich/ cafe use, enclosure of existing external lift and stair core, and reconfiguration of the basement level to provide additional cycle spaces, associated shower facilities and electric vehicle charging points.

The proposals seek to re-establish high-quality office accommodation by updating and refreshing the existing building, internally and externally. Situated in a highly sought after area in Putney, the building features exceptional views of Wandsworth Park and the River Thames beyond.

The proposals boast a raised and fully accessible landscaped courtyard experience. Working with the existing floor levels, the raised decking offers areas for congregating and seating with access routes through it. This external space brings a small part of the neighbouring park into the building. A ‘living’ wall and planting areas provide a much greener outlook on all sides.

The proposals aim to make a positive contribution to the available office space in this area of Putney. A new and level entry point from Putney Bridge Road will improve access to the building. The recessed nature of the new entrance will present more transparency to the elevation. This intervention demonstrates the willingness to improve the integration of this office building into the local community. The ability to offer adaptable office options for local residents responds positively to changes in our everyday working practices.
